Third...

Photobucket

Notice the medal around his neck! Yep.. that is my boy!! he placed third in sparring for his heat. He was in his first Tae Kwon Do Tournement this weekend!

He did not fare as well in his form. He says he is used to looking at the mirrors and in the gym there were no mirrors so he kinda lost his place and forgot his moves.

Honestly out of the two events I thought sparring would have been his weakest, but on Saturday that did not prove to be the case! We are so proud of him!!

The weekend was a rough one for me on many fronts. But this week is off to a good start!

The crop at KT went wonderfully and everyone seemed to have fun!

Sunday I got out of the house and spent some time with the kids at the park! That is always fun!

Next week is spring break for the kids! I am looking for some fun things to do...

So what was something fun you remember doing on your school breaks OR what is something fun you have done with your kids on break! If I use your idea you will get a RAK!!!

Encourage the library, if you don't already. Call them to see if they have any activities planned for the week, or any info on other places that might.

Well DS is out of pre-school this week too for Spring Break. We didn't do much as a kid because my parents always worked. We went camping some.

BUT here's my fun, cheap close to home (backyard even) idea. (well for a couple hours anyway.)

Buy some straight PVC pipe and cut it to about 2 feet in length, buy a PVC fitting for the end that has a hole in it...this is your Marshmellow launcher...Buy mini marshmellos and then you can put them into the mouthpiece and just blow...they'll fly. It's fun! We have one!

I love the library idea too. And if you have a community rec center many many times they have spring break days for kids.

First, I have to say, I love the pictures of the boys. Joshua looks great in his outfit and that Jackson....well, he is priceless! His personality is written all over him! The library was something our kids loved no matter when we went. The bookstores are fun too. They usually have a kids section with tables and such. How about the park? Do they have a place for bikes? You could walk while they ride and take a picnic lunch too! Have them do a scavenger hunt in the yard or the park! Have a great time no matter what you do...

Love those photos.

As a kid I always loved the cookie baking. Where you could put all the gooey frosting and fun sprinkles all over the cookies. You could bake spring themed cookies.

YOu could Camp out in the yard..Set up the tent and let the kids (or if you are brave, join them) cozy up in thier sleeping bags and sleep in the great outdoors.

YOu could see if there are other parents looking to find activities for thier kids. A lot of times grocery stores, bakeries, etc will do tours for groups. THese can be really fun and you usually get samples...yummy.

YOu could bake homemade pizzas, Give everyone thier own ball of dough, let them roll the dough and form the pizza, top it, etc. I have a great bread maker pizza dough recipe aswell as a pizza sauce recipe. My kids think homemade pizzas are so fun and yummy!

that is all I can think of right now...I may be back if I can think of anything else fun

Cool pics!

I like the baking thing at Easter as well, especially when it falls so early and it can be cold out.

One of the things we are planning to do is make our own snakes & ladders game. The board will be 4 pieces of 8x8 cardstock and we will cut lots of squares out of spare bits of patterned paper. Who knows, we might go the whole hog and ink the edges. We will die cut the numbers and stick them on, and cut wiggly snakes and (hopefully) nice straight ladders. Counters can be buttons if you are fed up by then! Once it's all done, you can play!

If that doesn't take as long as I am hoping, project-in-reserve is a version of monopoly based on our home town ... imagine the fun we'll have designing our own money, making little houses, etc . .
